USF freshman Malik Fitts honored by AAC
In the wake of his career effort in last week's 10-point home loss to Memphis, Bulls freshman Malik Fitts has been named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.
Fitts' 29 points and 11 rebounds both were career highs, with the point total representing a season-best for any Bulls player. He finished 9-of-14 from the floor, including a 3-of-6 effort from 3-point range.
One of only two 2016 Bulls signees to make it to the regular season (Michael Bibby's the other), Fitts is averaging eight points and 4.9 rebounds entering Wednesday night's game at Connecticut.
