USF men's hoops opens American at home vs. Memphis



The American Athletic Conference has unveiled its first-ever men's basketball schedule, and USF opens conference play with a big one, playing host to Memphis on Dec. 31 on ESPN2.

The Bulls' 18-game conference schedule has defending national champion Louisville coming to the Sun Dome on Jan. 22, just four days after Cincinnati is in town. The rivalry games with Central Florida come twice in a span of 11 days, with the Bulls traveling to Orlando on Feb. 5 and the Knights coming to Tampa on Feb. 15. USF gets to close its conference schedule with a home game against Temple on March 8.

"We're very excited about the inaugural season of the American Athletic Conference," coach Stan Heath said in a statement. "The round-robin format will create a very competitive league race ... adding to the strength of the conference."

Here's the full conference schedule:

December: 31 - vs. Memphis. January: 4 - vs. Houston; 9 - at Temple; 15 - at SMU; 18 - vs. Cincinnati; 22 - vs. Louisville; 26 - at Memphis; 28 - vs. SMU. February: 2 - at Cincinnati; 5 - at UCF; 8 - vs. Rutgers; 12 - at Connecticut; 15 - vs. UCF; 18 - at Louisville; 26 - vs. Connecticut. March: 1 - at Rutgers, 4 - at Houston, 8 - Temple.
