USF men's soccer team to host FGCU in NCAA tourney

The USF men's soccer team, runner-up in the American Athletic Conference tournament, will host Florida Gulf Coast in an NCAA Tournament first-round match Thursday at 7 p.m.

The winner plays at No. 9-seeded North Carolina on Sunday. The Bulls fell 3-2 at FGCU (14-3-2) on Oct. 11.

USF (10-6-2) has qualified for 10 of the past 11 NCAA tournaments, and 20 overall. The Bulls fell to Tulsa on penalty kicks in this past Sunday's AAC title match after winning the regular season title, and enter Thursday match No. 23 in the men's soccer RPI.

The entire 48-team NCAA bracket can be seen here. USF and FGCU are the only state schools to make the field.
