USF Sport & Entertainment lecture series set for Oct. 9

New York Mets COO Jeff Wilpon will be among the guest speakers at USF's fifth annual Sport and Entertainment Lecture Series, set for Oct. 9 at the Sun Dome.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening an hour earlier. Admission is free, but registration (at this link) is requested. Parking for those with no S-Lot pass is $10.

The theme of this year's series, sponsored by Fox Sports Florida and the Tampa Bay Lightning, is "What Tomorrow Could Look Like." Joining Wilpon will be Tim Leiweke, CEO of massive sports-entertainment alliance Oak View Group; and Brandan Donohue, managing director of the NBA 2K League.

The lecture series is a staple of the Vinik Sport and Entertainment Management Program in USF's Muma College of Business.
