USF women's hoops to open vs. Maryland
USF women's basketball has added a pair of home-and-home series against strong national opponents, as the Bulls will open the 2013-14 season at home against ACC power Maryland and will travel to face Oklahoma State in Oklahoma City.
The Bulls, coming off their first-ever NCAA Tournament win, will open their season Nov. 8 in the Sun Dome against Maryland, which finished the year ranked No. 11 nationally after making the Sweet 16. And on Dec. 14, the Bulls will play against Oklahoma State, which made the second round of the NCAA Tournament, at Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bulls will play at Maryland in 2014-15 and will play host to Oklahoma State next year as well.
Those two games lead a strong nonconference schedule for Jose Fernandez's team, which will also play host to Clemson and Middle Tennessee State and travel to Florida Gulf Coast. As part of its new schedule in the American, the Bulls will play two games (home and away) against defending national champion Connecticut, as well as national runner-up Louisville.
