Video: USF coaches enjoying spring-game rivalry
USF's spring football game is still eight days away, but Bulls coaches are enjoying the rivalry Willie Taggart has created with an elaborate system of drafting the rosters for the April 13 game at Raymond James Stadium.
Defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan and defensive backs coach Ron Cooper -- the two head coaches for the spring game -- addressed the media together Friday morning, and it was very much the Chuck'n'Coop comedy show. They're having fun with this, with a "free agency" period that saw Bresnahan sign QB Bobby Eveld and DT Luke Sager, this after Cooper signed DE Aaron Lynch and C Austin Reiter. Cooper's "White" team has the first pick in Saturday night's player draft, with Green getting the second and third picks.
And here's Taggart, who answered some regular football questions in addition to his spring-game Commissioner duties. He didn't want to call Eveld his No. 1 quarterback, but said he's leading the pack right now and the offense has gotten more consistent as he's understanding it better. Rain picked up during Taggart's interview, and minutes later, the Bulls took a half-hour off due to lightning, but were able to resume practice as the weather improved.
