Over two decades in Congress Bill McCollum developed a much stronger record as an international crime and terrorism expert and Clinton-basher than consumer advocate. But he is now by far the biggest name in the race for attorney general, and Steve Bousquet notes that McCollum is not ready to retire yet.

After reading your piece,I tried a little experiment during the breakfast hour at a local restaurant. Not one of the folks I was with or talked to at the restaurant whom I happened to know, knew who was in the A G race, None had ever heard of Negron, Saunders, or Rice, and yet every single one had heard of and recognized McCollum! Scary, huh.?
