Teachers for Gallagher
“Jeb Bush turned Florida’s schools around and delivered historic education reforms because his leadership was based on principles, not public opinion polls or pundits,” said CFO Gallagher. “I fought alongside Governor Bush for better schools, better pay for our teachers, and better results for our students, and I’ll continue fighting to re-invent Florida’s high schools for success as Governor.” The list is in comments.

At this rate, Mr. Gallagher should have at least 2,000 people who support him by election date. He has found 300, with only one publicly quitting so far that we know of. Impressive

It's probably good media strategy, but doesn't really amount to a hill of beans -- put together a group of 100 (or whatever) supporters from the same general profession or interest area and make a big, splashy announcement, so that it looks like they represent every right-minded person in that profession or interest area. I'm sure each of the four candidates could do the same thing if they tried. Some of the individuals on this list are impressive, some not so much. More flash than substance. Like I said, good media strategy (after all, it landed a spot in Buzz) but not really consequential.

CV, you continue to show your ignorance about grassroots politics.

USS, fornication is a sin in the Christian bible, old and new testaments. Good Chritians don't think this is something a 50 year should set as an example of behavior to be "known" for, for young people to aspire to follow. Are you proud of this?

Give it a rest. You keep repeating the same thing over and over.
Gallagher's always been pro-choice. He's never been averse to vouchers and charter schools. As Education Commissioner, he handed out the first opportunity scholarships to recepients in Pensacola's two failing elementary schools.
Really, you need to do more homework!
Gallagher has released an education plan which was wholeheartedly endorsed by Governor Jeb Bush as "first rate".
I haven't seen Charlie's education plan nor have I seen any policy proposals for that matter. Maybe he's waiting until September 5th to release them.
Once again, CC is alot of flash and no substance. Maybe the Cristonians can continue to chant in unison" "less government, lower taxes, more freedom".
Yeah, that's the ticket to getting elected.
Keep drinking the CC cool aid CV!

You are all missing the reality of this. Gallagher just lost, and why you ask?
“…100 teachers, administrators and home-schoolers…”
Nothing like admitting that, as Governor, you will continue down the path of treason by intentionally crashing our public school system (ie. A very foundational element to our democracy, and our nation’s future) – in favor of outsourcing to your campaign contributors stock market investment (private schools).
And…
“Jeb Bush turned Florida’s schools around and delivered historic education reforms…”
Admitting that you are in fact delusional and in a state of denial… yeah, that’s the leader I want… :-)~

"Gallagher has released an education plan which was wholeheartedly endorsed by Governor Jeb Bush as "first rate"."
That to me would indicate that Old TOMMY boy should keep as much distance from public schools as possible. JEBBY's endorsement of anyone's education policy means about as much as Jeffrey Domer's choice of restaurants.
Both of the Republicans are no good for education, not that democrats are much better but at least they don't eliminate free lunches for poor kids like old Tommy did in his tenure as Commissioner of Education...

Omega-- first, you are completely uninformed. Charter schools are public schools in every sense of the word-- same rules, same requirements, public funds.
Second, you are obviously ignoring the political aspects of this list or you are nieve. Including people from all aspects of the school system, including board members, teachers, administrators, college professors and yes, even home educators, shows a well reasonsed political strategy. He has included people on his team from all the aspects of the system.
While you make disparaging statements about home-schoolers, it seems Gallagher's team knows politics after all. By including a few HS in a list of several hundred, it is not out of line with the 2% homeschoolers in the state. And in a Republican primary, they make up an even larger percentage of the actual voters. They also work hard on campaigns. They also impact the votes of hundreds within their circles at churches and people they know throughout the community. Seems like a good political move to me.
