Gallagher's Been Googled

Add a new liability for politicians who find their dirty laundry aired in the Internet Age: Affiliated advertising sales by Google.

Buzz noticed Tuesday, when looking at the Miami Herald's story on Tom Gallagher's 27-year-old divorce, a less than flattering trio of advertising links below the story: How to Survive an Affair, Adultery and Divorce, and Spouse Cheating?

At the risk of inflating our competitor's web hits, click here to see for yourself. It appears the more salacious links rotate with other political themed links.

Too bad Tom Gallgher isn't the perfect family man that his entire campaign is based upon.

Maybe if his speeches contained more than "My wife does this....and my son does that...by the way, did you know that I am married and have a son?" then he would less than 30 points behind Charlie.

Crist is running an issue oriented campaign with a positive agenda for our state. And he's already hit the airwaves...kind of reminds me of someone...Jeb Bush.

Gallgher is done. And after November, so will Crist be...

By the way, if you google Adam, you'll read why Jeb will soon remove him too.

Search "Tom Gallagher" in Google and you get the Charlie Crist campaign website in the Sponsor Links section.

Search "Charlie Crist" and the TG website does NOT show up.

Classic! Once again the CC camp has outsmarted the TG kids. The TG staff is overpaid and leading their candidate to oblivion.

As I've indicated previously on another Buzz posting, after 27 years and what has been revealed by whoever gave the information to the Tampa Tribune and various newspapers, this is truly a non-issue.

A titillating story, but so minor that the coverage it is getting is simply silly. Hopefully for the dignity and importance of governor's race, a one day story.

The press should now proceed to Crist's divorce files - if still extant - as well as further inquires of Crist's sexual and drug history, even though Crist has previously admitted to drug use in his younger days according to today's SPT article.

    What is fair is fair.

Get these issues totally out of the way so that we can move onto substantive issues.

It appears that someone else is running Gallagher's campaign - folks inside and outside of Gallagher's campaign. If doesn't really change soon - may be too late already - his campaign stategy, he will spending a lot more time with his spouse and son.

    And your point is?

Those issues are ones that both Republican candidates espouse in the primary.

Undoubtedly, the negatives are piling up for Gallagher.

Three front-page headlines in the three I-4 Corridor newspapers in one-day. Not exactly a positive outcome for a planned, 30-minute press briefing.

If Team Gallagher continues this swing-and-a-miss game plan, the Crist campaign may not even need to bring in The Closer.

Many people on here say who cares, it was 27 years ago. If it was only 27 years ago then I would agree. But what will begin to come out now is the real TG. After his divorce, TG went back to the Legislature and was proud to be called a "party boy" and he lived up to it. He slept with everything he could in Tallahassee throughout the 80's and most of the 90's. He didn’t stop screwing everything he could, while getting plastered in the process with lobbyist picking up the tab, until 98. That was only 8 years ago. Is that relevant? Does it show a pattern to the vast majority of his adult life? Did he ask for it when he tried to reinvent himself as Christian right winger? Yes. Yes. Yes. If you know the story of St Augustine then you know that God can change mans hearts. St Augustine loved to chase women for almost half his life before he found God. In the Confessions of St. Augustine there is a passage where he prayed "oh Lord grant me chastity, just not quite yet." He did eventually turn from his old life and follow God. He became a pillar of the early Church. But he did not seek political power so the truthfulness of his conversion was not questioned. His works spoke for themself. TG might too have had an honest conversion but it seems as if he is using it to attain political power. Perhaps TG should follow the example of Augustine: forsake political power and dedicate your life to winning converts to Christ.

In about 10 weeks the voters will give TG plenty of free time to prostelize full-time his new found faith.

Charlie and issues? That's a good joke.

Charlie's whole campaign is based on (drink the cool aid and repeat after me Cristites) "less government, lower taxes, more freedom", "less government, lower taxes, more freedom".

Yeah, that should win the election! That and Tom G's misadventures twenty seven years ago.

Charlie and issues. Those two words are an oxymoron.

    flamingo:
the google thing is a totally useless fact. Anyone who has to find information using google doesn't know what the hell they're doing to begin with.
I wonder what pinhead in the Crist camp got that brain flash. Could get them a job as assistant spokesperson making $25k a year if CC get's elected.
    Hope that wasn't you.

I got googled once… but my doctor gave me an ointment and it went away…:-)

    terminator,

Don’t forget how CC has to go all the way back to Regan for self analogy. As if…

I think that CC will win over TG, for the very reason you stated in your last post… But I think Rod take it over Davis and make for a hell of a run to the general.
