James Joyce's 'Ulysses': the Twitter version
No more excuses for not reading James Joyce's Ulysses: Now it's on Twitter.
Well, not the whole novel -- that would be a ton of tweets. Today (June 16) is Bloomsday, the 105th anniversary of the Dublin day in 1904 that Joyce brings to life so richly in the book, and Georgia Tech professor Ian Bogost and his friend Ian McCarthy put together a group of people to post the 10th chapter, "Wandering Rocks," over the course of the day.
That chapter follows 19 Dubliners as they go about their lives, intersecting at various points during the day. The Twitter participants posted in first person as various characters at the correct fictional times. Since Bloomsday is almost done in Dublin, you can follow all the results and read an explanation of the project here.
