Sarasota Music Festival wrapping up

Levin The Sarasota Music Festival concludes with concerts Thursday, Friday and Saturday, two of them featuring works by American composer Yehudi Wyner. On Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Sarasota Opera House, festival artistic director and pianist Robert Levin (left) will be the soloist in Wyner’s piano concerto Chiavi in Mano (recently released in a CD on the Bridge label with Levin playing it with the Boston Symphony Orchestra). The opera house is at 61 N Pineapple Ave., Sarasota. Wyner’s Cabaret Songs will be performed on Thursday’s program at 5:30 p.m. at Holley Hall, 709 N Tamiami Trail.

Friday's concert, at 7:30 p.m. at the Opera House, features the American premiere of a Mozart fragment. Charles Neidich, clarinet, will lead a student string quartet in the Rondo in A major, which was completed by Levin, a Mozart scholar. The last page of the fragment was separated from the rest of Mozart's manuscript and was found about 20 years ago.
