Right before the Super Bowl, I heard about a new place opening in Tampa that was importing a super-fabu-gigundo wood-burning pizza oven directly from Naples. I lost track, got distracted, dropped the ball. But now I'm focused: Pizzaiolo Bavaro (514 N. Franklin St., corner of Twiggs St. & Franklin Ave., (813) 868-4440) will offer free pizza tastings to the general public next Tuesday, noon to 2 p.m. (an invitation-only opening party follows that night), with the grand opening slated for next Wednesday. It's Napoli-style pizza all the way. Can't wait for my first slice.
