AAA discounts, Swirls and That's Amore
Here are a few things on my mind, in no particular order.
Anyone notice how many new ice cream and yogurt shops we have around here? I just heard about Swirls (12713 Race Track Road, Tampa, (813) 855-5001). They make their own gelato onsite and have some interesting flavors. One that I'm particularly eager to check out is Bacon Chocolate. How could that be bad?
A retired fellow Timeser sent me an e-mail this morning about how many local restaurants offer discounts to AAA members: At Outback AAA members get a Free Bloomin' Onion by showing your card. Midtown, Columbia, Fergs, Green Iguana, Joto's Pizza and Paisino's Pizza also offer discounts to members. Good to know.
At That's Amore Ristorante (700 Harbour Post Dr., Tampa, (813) 221-9889), chef Nicola has just gotten back from Italy (while he was away they renovated the restaurant, bar and pizza areas). I'm looking forward to trying new, fresh-from-Italy dishes.
