Anthony Bourdain coming to St. Pete
Chef, author, host of the Travel Channel’s No Reservations and all-around culinary bad boy, Anthony Bourdain will visit the Progress Energy Center for the Arts-Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg for one night on Nov. 19. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (June 11) at noon. Ticket prices are $40 to $125 for VIP packages and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com, at Ticketmaster outlets, at the Mahaffey Theater Box Office or by calling toll-free 1-800-745-3000. The VIP tickets include premiere seating, an exclusive meet-and-greet session with Bourdain featuring hors d’oeuvres, a photo opportunity, a limited edition Anthony Bourdain tour poster and a limited edition tour VIP laminate.
Following the release of his much-anticipated new book, Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook (Ecco, published June 8), Bourdain will have plenty of new stories of meals loved and reviled. Best known for his cook-and-tell memoir Kitchen Confidential, Bourdain has made a name for himself as a celebrator of the world’s most exotic and sometimes even shudder-inducing foods. Bourdain, formerly executive chef at New York’s famed brasserie Les Halles, is also the author of bestseller A Cook’s Tour, published in conjunction with his series on the Food Network. Copies of his books will be available for purchase the evening of his talk.
