Live from Fashion Week: Clothing crisis!
Today officially kicks off New York Fashion Week! A plethora of designers, including Diane Von Furstenberg, Betsy Johnson, Michael Kors, Anna Sui and BCBG Max Azria (pictured left, from today's show) will cram into tents and trot out their spring 2009 collections. In no time, you will see this stuff mimicked on $12.99 racks at Forever 21. It's big, people!
Our friend Jessica Hartman (pictured below), who works as a mild-mannered web editor at the St. Petersburg Times/tampabay.com, landed a sweet Fashion Week internship with IMG. She's a noob in New York, tracking the experience of a lifetime. We're lame in Tampa, reposting what she writes.
Today's installment: OH GOD, WHAT DO I WEAR??? Take it away, Jess.

I'm about to run out the door to my first day of work at the Daily (the magazine for IMG). I tell ya, it wasn't easy picking out an outfit, and I'm still not sold on what I'm wearing.
I initially thought I'd be sort of fashion forward and wear black slacks with a grey pinstripe vest over a white button-down shirt. Well, I looked like a marshmallow, so that was out. So I went to what I'm comfortable with: black slacks with a plum half-armed sweater over a white cami. I know, not groundbreaking, but at least it's not ugly. I'm also wearing my black boots because my damn slacks are still too long. Don't worry, I put Dr. Scholl's inserts in them and am armed with band-aids and flip flops in my purse. We'll see.
Anyway, I gotta run. I still have no idea what I'll be doing today or how long I'll be there, but either way it should be fun! Now hopefully I get on the right train...
