Eat turkey, go shopping
Attention all you Black Friday (i.e. holiday-crazed, bargain-hunting, traffic-entangled, what in the world are you thinking?!) shoppers:
The Prime Outlets in Ellenton have just the remedy for your turkey-induced delirium next week. Once you are good and gorged with yams, stuffing and all things pumpkin this Thanksgiving Day, the only pants you'll be fitting into are those drawstring plaid pajamas that Aunt Gertrude gave you for Christmas last year. So what to do? Put them on and go shopping, natch.
The "Midnight Madness Pajama Jam" (try saying that four times fast) begins Friday, Nov. 28 at midnight, duh, and lasts until 8 a.m., or until you crawl under a rack of sweaters at Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, cover yourself with your bags and snuggle up for a long winter's nap.
The first 500 PJ-wearing shoppers will receive a free goodie bag filled with Jockey pajamas and other giveaways (visit guest services near the Polo Ralph Lauren factory store). You can also register for a $500 mall shopping spree. Make sure to visit the outlet's Web site before you go to print off coupons for extra savings.
Keep in mind that you won't be the only shopper headed south. Our colleague, Jan Wesner, got stuck in some gnarly traffic on her brave midnight outlet run last year.
