They blog alike, they talk alike... at times they even DRESS alike
Oh, the horror. The shame.
What were the odds? Colleen and I are wearing the SAME dress today.
It gets worse.
We are also both wearing red shoes.
No necklaces, but we both have on a bracelet and little stud earrings. (Mine are pearls. Hers are faux diamonds.)
The back story: THIS WAS NOT PLANNED. This weekend, I went shopping in Ellenton with my mother. We went to the Banana Republic outlet store. (Remember how I put a basic khaki skirt on my shopping list?) Well, I found it.
My mother also spotted a really cute black shirt dress, cargo style with a belted waist. She insisted I try it on. Said I would wear it for years. It came in khaki and black, but the khaki really washed out a fair complexion.
Little did I know but Colleen had this EXACT SAME thought process a year ago. Same Banana Republic outlet store. Same dress, which has been updated only with new buttons for the 2009 season.
Back to me: My mom insisted on buying the dress for me as an early birthday present. It was on sale for about $50.
Back to Colleen: She says it wasn't on sale when she bought it for about $80 (ha!), but she loved it so much she didn't care.
Me: I felt so cute this morning, slipping on my red Mary Jane heels and a red bangle bracelet that I snagged at the Banana Republic outlet for $3. (Crap, the bracelet was inspired by Colleen, who's always so cute with accessories that I want to be like her.)
Colleen: She never wears this black dress with anything but heels, usually black. But today, for some reason, she slipped on red flats.
Cue the Patty Duke theme song.... Here's what happened when we saw each other at the office:
