I've been a fan of this sale for a while and decided it was time to share.

Every now and then Babies R Us offers 25 percent off when you trade in a used baby furniture item, including car seat, high chair, play yard or stroller. And there's no limit on the amount of items you can trade in.

I know what you're thinking -- my baby's first (crusty and probably rusty) high chair is worth way more than a mere 25 percent off! And besides I plan on selling it at the garage sale/craigslist/ebay next month.

News flash guys, unless you're saving baby furniture for the next bambino there's no good reason to keep it around. And even then you have to be very careful since manufacturing rules change constantly when it comes to baby items, meaning that changing table you have now might not be considered safe three years from now.

In other words, it's time to let go.

For me that means taking a baby swing that's been sitting in our garage for months down to Babies R Us this weekend and getting 25 percent off a new stroller. Yes that baby swing is cute and yes it was the thing that soothed my son so well when he was an infant. But every little bit of savings counts and that's one less thing cluttering up my garage. The trade-in deal ends Feb. 20.
