CANDY ALTERNATIVE: MAKE-AND-TAKE EASTER EGGS
Easter is Sunday, bringing eggs into the forefront for the past few weeks. But it's usually all about candy, so it's nice to know there a couple of ways to celebrate eggs creatively. They are a symbol of life, after all.
Make colorful, scented Easter egg bath bombs, left, at Miss Anita's Crafts in Tampa on Saturday. Bring $15 and an empty egg carton; all other supplies and know-how will be included. They're made with all natural ingredients, so you can pamper yourself without pause. 2-4 p.m. 11811 N Armenia Ave. Sign up at squareup.com/store/miss-anitas-crafts.
Or you can blow your own glass egg at the Morean Glass Studio and Hot Shop today through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. An experienced glassblower will assist you, but how cool is it to try your hand at such an art? It costs $75, but you'll have a keepsake that will last forever — as long as you don't break it. Must be 11 or older to participate. Pre-register at moreanartscenter.org. 719 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
BLOCK PARTY: SPRING MIXER AT THE SHOPPES AT 400 BEACH
Spring has sprung, and the Shoppes at 400 Beach in downtown St. Petersburg are ready to celebrate from 6-9 p.m. today with a Spring Mixer block party. The soiree will feature a fashion show with swimwear and beachy cover-ups from Cerulean Blu, men’s fashions from Sartorial Inc., right, and childrenswear from Ribbons and Ties. Wine, raffles and DJ Daryl make it a party. 400 Beach Drive.
GREEN UP: GARDEN CLUB OF TARPON SPRINGS PLANT SALE

Since garden clubs tend to have all the goods on how to make yours beautiful, it's great when they hold plant sales, like the one the Garden Club of Tarpon Springs is having on Saturday. Shop home grown plants from the club's members while picking their brains on gardening tips. They'll have tropical plants, herbs and painted clay pots, as well as live caterpillars and butterflies. Kids will enjoy face painting and activities. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mother Meres Park, 100 E Tarpon Ave.
