Fila collaborates with Burn Rubber sneaker boutique and shop Safety Harbor this weekend

YBOR'S GOT SOLE: BURN RUBBER X FILA
Burn Rubber is a sneaker boutique in Ybor City that opened last October. The shop is the second location for the decade-old Detroit-based brand. Tampa resident Omar Ghanem, originally from Detroit, had been a supporter of the brand and partnered with the owners to open the shop in Tampa.
Burn Rubber's high esteem in the sneaker world led athletic brand Fila to approach Ghanem about doing a collaboration on newly released model the Mindbreaker 2.0. Looking to help introduce the shoe to the masses, they wanted to create a pair just for the Tampa shop. Ghanem took his inspiration from Ybor City itself, and chose the color palette from the iconic street signs. He also placed the store's longitude and latitude coordinates on the insole, and Burn Rubber's chef-head logo on the tongue.
The Burn Rubber x Fila Mindbreaker 2.0 "Ybor's Own" will be released to the public Saturday. The extremely limited edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at 1517 E Seventh Ave. burnrubbertampa.com.

Visit the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce (200 Main St.) for a shopping passport.
Also on Saturday, pop over to the Safety Harbor Library (101 Second St. N) for the Friends of the Library Sale, where thousands of books, CDs and DVDs will be available for discounted prices. It happens from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
