Back to the basics

I love to dress up. But by the time the weekend rolls around, a girl just wants to put on jeans and a T-shirt.

That doesn't mean we have to look sloppy, though. A great basic T-shirt can do wonders, transitioning from laid back daywear to a dinner appropriate look with the addition of a blazer and statement necklace.

The key, though, is finding a great basic T. Which is easier said than done.

For years I've relied on the much loved Target v-neck pocket T. It's cheap ($6 when on sale) and comes in a multitude of colors. But after a dozen washes, the T is often pilly and a bit stretched out. And I'm feeling over that unusable tiny square pocket. I mean, why have pockets if you can't fit snacks in them?

So, I'm on the hunt for new basics.

I want something plain, that comes in a variety of colors. It should be comfortable, fitted but not too tight. And affordable, of course. Under $20 seems appropriate.

And to find this, I'm asking you, our readers, to chime in. Let us know in the comments or reach out to us on Twitter (@DealDivas) where you've found the best basic T.

I'll also accept nominations for tanks, because this is Florida, after all.
