Boot the heat: Rainy day shoe alternatives
Happy rainy Tuesday!
Was lingering in Katie's pod today after a lunch (I can't even talk about how much we ate, or what we ate, can't talk, too ashamed). She noticed my safety yellow jelly platforms with delight, which I pointed out were a stylish option for visibility and water resistance on a rainy day. She snapped a pic so I could bring them to you, readers. It's up there in the slide show.
They're Harajuku Lovers (Gwen Stefani's brand!) women's Quin T-strap sandal, and I've had them for a couple years. I love them because there's no way they're getting ruined in the rain, but for Florida's hot, sweltering summers, they're so much more temperate than a nasty hot-box rubber boot, ya heard? I don't think they're in production anymore, but it looks like there are still some available on Ebay! For being made totally of rubber, they are extremely comfortable and not even that sweaty at the end of the day.
Check the slideshow for a few other cute options that may have you replacing your old stand-by wellies on rainy days. Be sure to check out Melissa shoes for some oh-so adorable (but not so affordable) rain-proof kicks. Swoon, splash, swoon, repeat. Others come from Chooka, Hunter, Ted Baker and Kate Spade.
