Can't find the perfect shoes? Maybe it's time to make your own
Last week I told you about how, with the help from Deal Diva Katie, I got my shopping groove back. But my shoe game?
I need to step it up.
I'm craving color, variety, and comfort. So many of my shoes have gone to the grave in the past year (even the cobbler couldn't save them) and I'm feeling woefully short on options.
Problem is, I also haven't found much in stores I'm in love with.
LivingSocial to the rescue! This week, it's offering a coupon to CHROMATICgallerie.
Never heard of it? Neither had I.
Here's what I was able to find out. CHROMATICgallerie is basically a custom shoe shop. You can pick from 45 colors, three heel heights (2,3, or 4 inches), three fits (narrow, medium, wide), and four materials (leather, suede, faux fur, patent leather). Right now, every pair is under $100, and there's free shipping.
Here's the catch: right now, the only “style” is a round-toe pump.
Still, even with the current limitations, it is tempting. Everybody likes custom items. I think the closest I got to that as a girl was Payless' dye-able shoes. (Don't act like you didn't do that for your Easter outfit too.)
And, the folks at CHROMATICgallerie say they plan to add flats and other heel styles.
What say y'all? Would you try this?
Oh, and for those of you who are interested in the LivingSocial coupon, know that it's $50 (but worth $100). Five days left!
