Celebrating what's light, right -- and white!
My three-step action plan for dealing with the end of Memorial Day weekend is as follows:
1. Catch up with an old friend. Coffee, where are you? I need you. Never leave me like that.
2. Approach workload with renewed diligence (may or may not occur as a result of step No. 1).
3. Pick a fight with Deal Diva Kameel.
Remember when she blasted Boyz II Men for changing up "I'll Make Love to You" for an Old Navy commercial about white jeans?
Now, I'm not here to defend that earworm. But I am dredging up a sore subject to hmm, how do I put this, clarify that white is a great post-Memorial Day wardrobe choice, even if you don't want to squeeze into skinny white denim that may highlight your postérieur.
In fact, white is encouraged. We scoured the interwebz and found many fresh ways to wear the freshest of hues, including tips from style star goddess Rachel Zoe. She says, for example, you should pair a white outfit with rich brown accents to add sophistication or denim to break it up for a casual appeal.
Check out our slide show above for products and tips. There's a crystal dagger necklace (crave-worthy based on description alone), a white dress with black curve-shaping lace, a fun tote bag, lace shorts at a length I can get behind, a lightweight linen jacket, a tee with contrasting stripes, and a pretty amazing printed maxi dress.
DSW has also pulled its white heels and sandals to help you take advantage of the trend (how nice of them, it's like they want you to get sucked in or something!).
And obviously, if you need white jeans, you know where to go.
