'90s fashion show for Vanilla Ice?
I'm getting a huge kick out of tonight's concert by Vanilla Ice after the Ray's game. Not enough to go, admittedly, but to consider what I would wear.
Eighties fashion recently came back in a big way, and there's still neon and squared off shoulders to be found on the racks. (Although if the latest issue of Vogue holds clues to the future, the era of spandex has already been eclipsed by another wave of Mad Men period fashion.)
But as a child of the 1990s, I remember exactly what I was wearing when I knew by heart all the lyrics to Ice, Ice, Baby. I'm embarrassed to describe in detail, but suffice to say it involved a bumble bee striped shirt with the sleeves rolled up just so -- and, eek, matching socks.
If you're excited by a local sighting of Vanilla Ice, or even smile to hear the familiar beat on the radio ads, you know what I mean. So what would you wear to this concert?
