Abercrombie and Fitch will pay Jersey Shore's Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino to stop wearing the brand
If you work your fingers to nubs doing honest tasks eight-plus hours a day yet still find yourself raiseless and searching the couch cushions for Canadian dimes that might fool the snack machine, probably don't read this.
Abercrombie and Fitch has offered to pay Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino from Jersey Shore to STOP wearing the brand, calling it a "win-win situation" (HAR, see what they did there?). They also extended this wish to the rest of the classy Jersey Shore cast. We can't imagine why they wouldn't want their brand plastered all over a group of bloated, shiny people running void of panties through Italy. But the bigger point should be the outrage. All these people have to do is not wear clothes, and corporations throw money at them. I can't even deal.
"We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans," the company said in a statement. Read the whole story here.
Of course, it's likely all a PR stunt. And shockingly, we haven't heard of any similar offers from the folks at Ed Hardy.
