'American Idol' wardrobe 4-1-1
American Idol is in its ninth season, and let's face it -- the show is getting staler than a package of yesterday's Easter Peeps.
But now there's a new reason to watch: the clothes! This season, the show has started sending the media a list of what the contestants wore the previous week. Our friend Eric Deggans over at The Feed passed along the news.
Sadly, the press release did not include info on what the judges wore -- although it's safe to assume Simon Cowell is outfitted exclusively by Hanes.
Here's what the female finalists wore on last Tuesday's R&B soul night with Usher. Check back here tomorrow to learn what the guys -- including St. Pete's own Michael Lynche -- had on.
Katie Stevens: Foley and Corinna gray jump suit; Witches cross-lace leggings; Tarina Tarantino pink earrings, ring and heart necklaces; Designs by Carol Lynn turquoise cross necklace; Aldo strappy heels. Hot, hot, hot! She looks like a body double for Kelly Clarkson.
Siobhan Magnus: Bebe dress with Morgan Kelly custom artwork, Angel Court earrings, Anna Ruth Henriques ring, Adidas Missy Eliot shoes. As Randy Jackson would say, this outfit is just ai'ight for me, dawg.
Didi Benami: Terani dress, Mint Collection jewelry, Kizmit ring, Celeste shoes. Didi looked smokin' -- very Taylor Swift-esque. But Idol is a singing contest, not a beauty pageant. Didi got the boot last week.
Crystal Bowersox: O.C. dress customized by Kizmit, Express black belt, Bombshellbettyshop leather wrist cuffs, BCBG shoes, Art Jewelry ring, Francesca's Boutique earrings. I wonder if they mean Francesca's Collections? Regardless, this outfit is a hot mess.
Divas, what do you think of the Idol contestants' threads?

Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
