Attaining zen through party dresses
Every so often when I need to flee stressful situations, I go for a walk. Down the street. Past all the nature. Into a local shopping center. And usually, into White House Black Market.
I don't need to buy. It just calms me down to look at pretty things. I happen to think an embroidered silk dress with princess seams and a boned bodice is prettier than, you know, a tree. But to each her own.
WHBM is expensive, but they have good sales. On one such Zen-seeking trip there, I picked up one of my all time favorite party dresses. It's an impeccably tailored little satin strapless number that retailed for about $150. I snagged it for $60 just in time for a friend's wedding. And BTW, the built in bra TOTALLY did me a solid during hour three of open bar when I decided to prove my expert salsa dance skills.
Anywho, if you're having a crap day, try your luck at WHBM. They're having a killer sale -- 30 percent off already reduced prices. That's when the gettin's good, folks. Don't settle for less than a price tag totally annihilated with red pen.
