Banana Republic launches line inspired by Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. Will we love it as much as the Mad Men line?

Oh Banana Republic. You are good. Very good.

How did you know we were craving some literary-inspired fashion this fall? And how clever of you to tie it to the release of an upcoming blockbuster featuring beautiful movie stars.

We are weak!

And, we can't resist free food. Which is why you might find us at a special "after 5" event tonight at International Plaza in Tampa, where Banana Republic plans to intoduce its new Anna Kerenina-inspired collection.

Maybe Kiera Knightley and Jude Law, who star in the upcoming film based on Tolstoy's famous novel, will stop by. (Hey, we can dream, right?)

In addition to the "complimentary refeshments," Banana Republic also says it'll be offering sales for shoppers (natch).

Everyone will get 25 percent off full-priced items. That will jump to 35 percent if you use your BananaCard or another store credit card from the family brand, including Gap and Old Navy. You can get the same deal online from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight. Plus, certain stores also will be giving out tickets to advance screenings of the film, while supplies last.

If the clothes worn by the actors in the movie trailer are any indication, then BR's collection likely will be all about glamour, decadence and ... lace?

And even though I'm sure the prices also will be out of our leage, let's take a sneak peek of the collection anyway.

I wouldn't mind having this lace clutch in my purse collection. If only it wasn't $98! Still, it's just screaming out for a LBD, don't you think? Luckily, BR designed this lace dress:

Cute, no? I love the cap sleeve and the unlined part at the top. I don't love the $150 price. Let's see what they have on the lower end, shall we?

How's this for a statement piece? I love this ring. (At $39.50, it might just be the most expensive ring in my jewelry box, but I'm sure my fingers would thank me.)

OK, so this faux-fur scarf is wholly impractical for Florida. (And at $79.50, wholly impractical for my budget), but maybe somebody out there could use it. Where are you, northern friends?

You guys know I'm a skirt girl. Love them. Have too many in my closet. But there's always room for more, right? This "dusty grey" pencil skirt one just might make the cut even if I'll have to skip a few meals to pay for the $98 price tag.

Finally, some footwear. These pumps (lace, of course) are $128. And still, I like them.

What do you guys think? You can see more at Banana Republic. And let us know if you go to tonight's event!
