Barbie turns 52, gets some snazzy new shoes
It's Barbie's birthday, everyone!
Her life has been kind of wonkus lately. Her $30 million flagship store in Shanghai just closed. But on the upside, she landed a role in Toy Story 3, artfully pulling off all that Spandex. She still has a hatefully small waist, so that's good for her. Plus, on Valentine's Day, she got back together with studly Ken.
Last month, I wrote an opus narrative (or something) about Ken's 50th birthday. Barbie is just a little older than him, that cradle robber. Today, she turns 52.
To celebrate her birthday, luxury shoemaker Donald J. Pilner has released a shoe inspired by Barbie's "signature romantic, girly style." It's outside our Deal Diva price range at $265, but it's pretty funky. It kind of reminds me of something Barbie might wear to run a charity 5K. What do you think?
