Bare Escentuals opens a boutique at International Plaza
What is light and powdery and makes your face feel pretty all over?
For me, it's Bare Escentuals bareMinerals makeup, a preservative-free brand that gives skin a natural glow without leaving icky lines or looking like a mud mask. Also helpful for a makeup dummy like myself, it's so darn easy to apply.
Which brings me to this happy news: Today marks the grand opening of a Bare Escentuals boutique at International Plaza. Bare Escentuals basics will still be available at Sephora. But the new boutique will offer a wider range of products for devotees, whom store manager Lauren Orde lovingly refers to as "Grateful Deadheads of beauty."
To celebrate the opening this weekend, the store will offer all customers color matching and free deluxe samples of the new MATTE foundation and products from the RARE skincare line. Anyone who purchases a Get Started kit will receive a travel size bottle of the RareMinerals Renew & Reveal facial cleanser. Plus, enter a raffle for a chance to be one of three winners of a $75 gift card. Check out the store, located on the second floor near Nordstrom and between Betsey Johnson and Aldo, for other opening-related giveaways.
Last time I wrote about bareMinerals, some people pointed out that their skin had not taken well to the beauty line. So before you invest, you might want to try out those samples and see if the product works well for you.

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
