A bargain to boot!
At the mall this weekend, my sister and I spotted/ stalked this super stylish girl wearing cuffed jeans, a belted cardigan over a T-shirt and these amazing, sturdy boots. These boots were serious -- like a sleeker version of the bulky Doc Martins we had to wear at my all-girls', Catholic high school crossed with something out of Wyatt Earp's closet.
I would have never picked them off a shelf, but this girl's outfit made me reconsider. I wanted to snap a picture of her, but I figured our stares were creepy enough.

Sis and I stopped into a couple stores looking for something similar and struck gold at Nine West.
Though our muse wore a lace-up version, these were close enough. The only problem? Duh. The price tag.
$109.99. Ouch.
The saleswoman scurried over, smiling and congratulating us because "They're 30 percent off!"
Now we were talking $75. Thanks, but not good enough. We moseyed on, tried a few more but left the mall empty handed.
BUT WAIT. No shopping day is complete without an obligatory swing through Tar-jay. And sure enough, mama Target delivered.
I found these at the end of the last aisle, with ONE pair in my size. And guess how much.
$39.99.
Yes, please!
Now the challenge is pairing these babies with more feminine items, like our style obsession did at the mall. I'm thinking skinny cords with a loose blouse. Or maybe a dress with tights. Any ideas?
