Big sales don't always stack up when you read the fine print
Every few days, I get an email in my inbox with a screaming subject line: MAJOR SALE! DON'T MISS OUT! SAVE TONS O' CASH!!!!
I get all excited. I open the email to see what treasures await. Then, more often than not, I end up deleting the message in disgust. Why? Because there are too many catches to navigate. The sale is online only, or it ended at 5 p.m. and I'm just now reading it at 6, or it applies only to full-priced items and the things I like (or can afford) are on sale. Or something that makes the whole experience too much darn work.
Today's offer comes from Banana Republic: Get 40 percent off two regular-priced items. Online only. Today only. Excludes shoes. Free shipping if you spend more than $50. Enter promo code at checkout: L9DKZZPC8NBL.
Still with me?
I dunno, am I asking too much? Couldn't my fave store also give me the option of printing out a coupon so I can go to the mall and actually try on the two items I may or may not be interested in after seeing them on a model's perfect body? Do other people jump on sales when there are so many limitations attached? Do you, dear readers?
