Carson Kressley wears funky pants
I caught up with him this week while he was in town to emcee the Fashion Funds the Cure charity fashion show at the WestShore Plaza Saks Fifth Avenue. Mostly, we talked about his pants.
"These are my pants," he joked, "and these are my pants on drugs."
Designed by Trina Turk, these britches boast a '60s-inspired vibrant pattern of swirling aqua, lime green, yellow and coral against a white background. Paired with a pink shirt and tie, a navy blazer and slicked back hair, Carson managed to look both funky and debonair.
Used to be, these were the kind of pants he'd only wear once on each continent, he said. But times are tougher now, so he limits them to once per state. So far, he's sported them in California and Kentucky.
"Kentucky didn't get them," he said.
In L.A., horror of horrors, a woman showed up wearing the same print!
Now the host of How to Look Good Naked on the Lifetime channel, Carson was in a playful mood at the charity show Tuesday night.
Of the professional models, he said, "I love the Florida models because in New York all the models look hungry and mean."
Of civil trial attorney Steve Yerrid, one of the celebrity escorts for the show: "Steve's kind of hot!"
Of Heisman trophy winner Vinny Testaverde, another escort: "He totally wants me."
Of springtime fashions, he said to opt for bright colors, bold jewelry -- "the bigger, the better" -- and large, colorful leather handbags. He also loves statement shoes to boost an outfit.
"Unfortunately, statement shoes cost as much as your mortgage payment," he said. "I'm trying to figure out a way around that."
Let us know, will you Carson?
