I admit it. I, Keyonna Summers, am hereby guilty of color discrimination ... when it comes to my wardrobe choices, that is.
Sure, there's the occasional green, yellow or pink top or sweater. But the overwhelming abundance of blues, purples and neutrals shows I've clearly been eschewing other colors in favor of my favorite shades. I didn't give the color red a chance for years.
In a recent quest to diversify my color palette, I figured I'd fully embrace the love and extend my new philosophy to shoes, too.
Hello, Mossimo Ona ballet flats!
I grabbed these babies a couple weeks ago at Tar-jay, thinking they'd work with a casual weekend outfit or possibly even on days when I'll be on my feet all day at work. At $14.99, the price was definitely right. The quirky design features so many colors -- blue, pink, green, red, purple, yellow and white -- that it should be easy to match, right?
Wrong! I'm finding it's not so easy finding outfits that aren't overpowered by the shoes. So far, I've only found a couple of casual outfits that I think they go well with.
No luck at all, though, on figuring out an office-appropriate look that works.
That's why I figured I'd turn to my fellow fashionistas for ideas. Is there any potential for bumping up my new kicks from a straight-up casual look to business casual?
