Deal Diva Mailbag Monday: GIANT HAIR BOW!
One of our newsroom clerks, Sarah, brought a large FedEx package by my desk today, and she had a skeptical look in her eye. I groaned and took the mail, terrified of what was inside. Sarah must have a sixth sense, a extrasensory perception only a fellow girl can feel, because...
Behold, dear readers, Deal Diva Mailbag Swag of the Century. A GIANT HAIR BOW:
This is by American Apparel. The pic from my iPhone is a little dark, but the bow is black velvet (in that little boy's smile), literally a foot across when it's all spread out. And I can't lie. I think it's kind of the most amazing thing ever. It makes me feel like Cindy Lou Who after a gutter punk show.
Also in the box was this -- a skintight, black velvet (in that slow, Southern style) minidress:
Kind of cute. Very small. Very 80s, reminds me of Jem and the Holograms, but I can dig it. I'm thinking this may be a throw-caution-to-the-wind New Year's Eve party outfit extraordinare. Because if you can't wear a hair bow and skintight minidress when the ball drops, when can you?
There is an American Apparel store in Orlando at the Prime Outlets on International Drive. Or shop online. The hair bow is $22, and the dress is $42.
(Bow power, if you please.)

There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
