Deal Divas' Tampa Museum of Art CITY recap: Fur, Low Lighting and Ripped Pockets

3

October

Dudes, we're just about exhausted from all the fashion shows this month. Yet we soldiered on Friday, fetching our finery and heading out to the Tampa Museum of Art for the CITY Fashion+Art+Culture event to benefit the museum's education programs (I know, I know, call you when we have a real problem). It was, as expected, a totally swanky event, complete with drinks, nibbles, gauzy cabanas, a DJ and a runway show from Neiman Marcus, in which fall trends of fur, colorblocking and menswear styles for women factored heavily. Here are a couple party pics:

Your fashion show-hopping Divas, Kameel, Stephanie and Emily dressed in garb from Revolve Clothing Exchange (K), Ann Taylor (S) and Target (E). We were the most peasant-like people there. Some of the outfits we saw were outrageous and clearly cost thousands of dollars. We saw TWO of the exact same Stella McCartney dress, which sells for around $1,600. I personally would like to know where these people live, who they think they are, what they do for a living, and if they're taking applications.

Here are our sisters in thrift, St. Petersburg Times marketing pros Laura Simon and Grace Posada. The Times was a sponsor for the event.

Here is Carrie Brown, corporate counsel at Brown & Brown and volunteer chair of the CITY steering committee, wearing a dynamite Alexander McQueen orange number. She's with Patty Masin, vice-president and general manager of Neiman Marcus, wearing Dries van Noten. I totally clobbered some guy's poor foot trying to snap this picture in a darkly-lit room. Sorry, strange man. Wasn't it worth it?

Elizabeth DeVito, left, wore Ralph Lauren with Gucci shoes. Debra Williams, right, wore Olivier Theyskens.

Emily and Kameel take great pictures together, which we learned at Tampa Bay Fashion Week.

Here's me, in my Ann Taylor number. It's two years old, and it fit a little better two years ago. Let's please not talk about how the pocket started to rip during the cocktail hour. Sigh.

And now for the runway! I know one thing I didn't know before -- I really want a pair of purple tights. All these looks are available at your neighborhood Neiman Marcus, unless you're broke like us. If that's the case, look to them for styling inspiration, and we'll see you in the aisles at Target with our ripped pockets (there I go again, talking about it).
