Diamonds on the cheap? Oh yes...

Remember how I've been hankering for self-indulgence? Something longer lasting than a budget mani-pedi, but not so over the top that I'd feel foolish if I need my emergency fund for something truly necessary, like a new roof.

Thank you, Blue Nile, for presenting the perfect solution.

Living Social is running this week a special offering $150 in credit to Blue Nile for $75. For the uninitiated, this online jeweler offers high-quality luxe for less. Window browsing on their site is one of my favorite time-wasters.

And with Living Social's half-price voucher, a girl could buy a statement piece that only looks expensive. Consider indulging in an open-heart diamond pendant, priced at $250. Or a diamond-studded initial pendant for $175.

Splurge-worthy? I'd say so. Insane lose a house file for bankruptcy extravagance? Hopefully not.

Even better deals can be found on Blue Nile's silver earrings, rings and necklaces, as well as on less expensive gemstones, such as pearls and garnets. On these pieces, $150 could go a long way.

Can't bring yourself to spend money on yourself? Hint, hint... V-Day is just a month away.
