Diamonds, gowns and stilettos, oh my
You know what that means. Lots of stars trying to fake like they are having a good time as they pose in their glamour gowns, to be followed by lots of multi-page magazine spreads of the best and worst dresses. Oh, and lots and lots more face time for Ryan Seacrest, because really, he insists on being EVERYWHERE.
I love checking out all the red carpet looks, oohing and awwing over the pretty ones, and wondering WTH is up with all the ugly ones. Will Nicole Kidman's up-do be pulled back too tight? With Renee Zellweger look like she just sucked a lemon? (I'll go ahead and answer that one for you. Yes.) Will Halle Berry look more gorgeous than it seems humanly possible? Most def.
The Wall Street Journal reports that even the stars are likely to display a little more subtlety than sparkle this year, given the economic downturn and all. That probably means wearing only $1-million worth of baubles instead of $5-million.
First up: the Golden Globes, airing Sunday night. Grab a bowl of popcorn and catch the red carpet pre-shows. Then check back in next week for a chat about who did themselves proud, and who needs to find a new stylist.
