I had planned to dazzle you guys today with my closet organizing skills, but while absently watching Mad Men on Netflix last night, this tweet by @nytimesfashion popped up on my iPhone screen: “Kanye West, Designer (Yawn)http://nyti.ms/nqMYli.

Of course, I had to click.

Turns out, Kanye is just the latest celebrity designer du jour. He actually seems to be taking it pretty seriously, showing his first collection in a Paris fashion show this week.

For the record, I'm a pretty solid fan of Kanye's music. He does/says some crazy things, yes, but even today, his songs regular rotate through my favorite playlists.

But what about his fashion line? Well, critics are panning it, and saying the show itself was bizarre. See what the NY Times said here and here. Kanye of course, isn't going down without a fight.

I don’t think its completely horrible. And I have a soft spot since the line is named for his late mother.

But even I have to admit two words came to mind when I saw some of the pieces: hot mess.

Who wants to wear something that looks like dyed, ripped toilet-paper tube dress?

The fur seems pretty out of place too.

Oh well. Word is that Lindsay Lohan, at least, likes the collection. That’s good right? Right? Uhhhhh….

Rolling Stone put together a slideshow of some of the looks. What do you guys think of Kanye's line? Fug or fab?
