Fashion's Night Out hits Tampa on Sept. 8

24

August

fno.jpgIt's the exclusive invite it took Tampa Bay two years to receive. Mark your calendars for Fashion's Night Out, a celebration of all things fashion on Sept. 8.

The concept launched in 2009 as a way to help the fashion industry combat the recession doldrums. We've been drooling ever since at the glossy photos out of NYC showing style mavens hitting their fav stores for an evening of parties, discounts, celeb sightings and fun galore to celebrate shopping.

In past years, Tampa 's celebration was limited to a store here or there. But this year, the action is on at many malls, including International Plaza, the Shops at Wiregrass, Tyrone and some boutiques.

Check the FNO website to see who joins, and the Tampa FNO Facebook page. Here's the latest highlights:

  • International Plaza : The biggest celebration in town with an "exclusive" gift for those who drop $500 -- a gold-toned clutch with a voucher valued at $100. Frugalistas can enjoy the live performances by the Florida Orchestra, not to mention drinks and deals at the many stores and restaurants getting in on the action.
  • Tyrone Square Mall, St. Petersburg : Promo is light on details but promises a "fun and exclusive shopping event that honors fashion."
  •  The Shops at Wiregrass: Free samples and discounts, a fashion show and a chance to win a makeover.
  • Saks Fifth Avenue (Westshore mall Tampa ): Food, cocktails and fashion, plus fragrance and beauty bars. Tickets are $25 and benefit the Dali Museum .
  • DKM Accessories: The popular South Tampa accessories boutique will showcase fall trends and vintage jewelry. Enjoy appetizers and drinks from Pane Rustica and special gift bags!
