Fight the frizz with Phyto products
Raise your hand if you are having a bad hair day.
I know, I know, there's a drought in Florida, and we really need all this rain. But what to do when your 'do is a big, frizzy mess?
Option #1: Opt for the ponytail. That's what I did today. I didn't even feel like trying.
Option #2: Invest in products that fight the frizz.
If you've lived through a hot and humid summer in the Sunshine State, you've probably spent a good bit of time and money trying to figure out how to tame your 'fro. If you haven't found the perfect fix, may I suggest the Phyto brand. My hairstylist sister turned me on to these products, and I'm oh-so-happy she did.
My two faves are the Phytodéfrisant botanical hair relaxing balm and Phytolisse smoothing serum with althea. The first one eases frizz and static electricity. The latter one smooths and adds shine (use it in small doses to avoid looking greasy). Both include natural ingredients that keep hair looking healthy.
You can get this stuff at salons, drug stores and beauty supply stores. Add it to your arsenal! Down with the frizz!

Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
