Find sales faster via upgraded Westfield Malls smartphone app
We’ve all been there, divas. You’re standing in front of the mall directory, trying to locate the little “You Are Here” icon and decipher which side of this hulking huge building faces north.
Not anymore, say the leaders of one chain of area malls.
Westfield Malls say navigating those sales just got a little easier thanks to upgrades to the chain’s smartphone app. The company has malls in Brandon, Tampa (Citrus Park) and Clearwater (Countryside).
According to a tutorial on the company’s website, the app – called Westfield 2.0 – allows shoppers to download mall maps and get detailed turn-by-turn directions to stores, bathrooms, ATMs and food.
That's not all. The chain boasts that shoppers can now make restaurant reservations, view movie trailers and show times, and purchase tickets right from their phones. Customers can also make shopping lists, search by product (which filter the results by price and store), or find sales in a single click.
And no need to waste time typing. Use the app’s voice command feature instead.
So far, the app is only available for iPhone users. But store officials say they expect to roll out an upgraded version soon for Android, Blackberry and other Apple products users, who can still check out the older version here.
Have any of you fashionistas out there used the app yet? Thumbs up or down?

Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
