Follow Tampa Bay Fashion Week with the Deal Divas
Squeeeee!
Ok, now that that's out of the way...
Each year we bring you plenty of coverage of Tampa Bay Fashion Week, but we're doing it even bigger this year. It's the fifth birthday for our city's very own couture collective, and to celebrate, organizers have planned a full week of events culminating in a runway show of original creations from some of the area's designers. Get all the event information here. Your Deal Divas will be at every event, tweeting, taking Instagram photos and recording all the outragous looks we see. And we want you involved!
But you're like, "Wait. I have to take my kids to karate and figure out if Mr. Nubs the cat ate my car keys. I can't go to fashion shows." Of course we'd love to see you at the events, but we also want to see YOUR fashion in YOUR everyday life, cat car keys and all. Fashion in Tampa Bay is different than it is in New York, and we want to love and celebrate it for real. Adore the Target shoes you have on? See a shirt at the mall that no person should ever wear? Find a great deal on a bag? Make your own necklace out of a Diet Coke can and glitter? Take an Instagram and post it with the hashtag #tbfashion. The best pictures and tweets and links will appear here, in our Storify!
Fun, right?
Follow me on Twitter at @stephhayes all week for real-time coverage at events, and check back often for Storify updates. And don't forget to pick up a tbt* tomorrow or a Tampa Bay Times Sunday for our story about five fabulous closets in Tampa Bay. We'll bring it to you on the blog tomorrow as well, but you're not going to want to miss the beautiful photos from some of our most talented Times photographers in person. I'll give you a hint. One of our subjects has not one, not two, but three closets in her home. It's like that, y'all.
Don't forget to tag... #tbfashion!

Katie Sanders foolishly spurned pretty dresses and shoes as a child, tossing new clothes over her shoulder at birthday parties with a totally rude "no, thank you." Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry. She can be reached at (813) 226-3400 or
From camo pants and construction boots to sundresses, sweaters and sling backs, Keyonna Summers knows how to make all of it rock -- at rock bottom prices. A Detroit native, Keyonna delves into her urban roots to find fashion pairings that give a nod to street fashion while maintaining the class of the modern, professional woman. She believes in searching for affordable clothes that look expensive and can easily be dressed up or down. You won't find plaid shirts or fleece jackets in her closet; the only hiking Keyonna does is to the bargain basement. She can be reached at (727) 445-4153 or
