Forever 21 debuts plus sizes
Hey all you curvaceous Forever 21 fans: The queen of trendy bargain clothing is launching a plus-size line May 1.
At select stores and online, Faith 21 will offer knit and woven tops, dresses and jeans in junior plus sizes and XL, 1X and 2X for the same affordable prices shoppers have come to love at Forever 21.
This is great news for gals with fuller figures. But leave it to Kim Kardashian to get all bent out of shape when Us Weekly mentioned her in the same breath as the forthcoming sister line. After the magazine merely noted that Kardashian is a Forever 21 fan in its article about the new line, she wrote a bratty rebuttal taking issue with the possibility that people might, gasp, consider her to be "in that size category."
"For the record, I am a size 2, not 2XL," she said.
Um, for the record, it seems quite unlikely that her booty-licious Barbie proportions could squeeze into any size 2 we've ever seen, unless she has a designer friend who is exaggerating sizes to make her feel good and superior. And the fact that she felt compelled to write something like that is a sad commentary on what too many women still consider important.
Size DOESN'T matter. Making attractive clothes available for every body type DOES. So bravo to Forever 21/Faith 21 for stepping up to the plate.
