Fossil figures footwear fits its fashion
I guess it was only a matter of time until Fossil debuted a shoe line.
Fossil already sells watches, wallets, purses, accessories and clothes. Lest feet be left out, the brand has found a chunk of wall space in select stores nationwide to trade in footwear.
Starting Monday (Aug. 10), Fossil will launch its men's and women's fall 2009 shoe collections in stores at Brandon Town Center, International Plaza in Tampa and University Citywalk in Orlando. The shoes are already available online.
Scott Milden, Fossil's creative director of footwear, said shoes were a logical extension for the brand.
"It connects Fossil and the consumer in an emotional transaction," he said. "It completes the idea of a head-to-toe opportunity for Fossil as a casual, full-lifestyle brand."
An emotional transaction? I'm not so sure of that, but I do like what I see so far with this shoe collection. The line offers a modern take on vintage styles. There are flats, boots, heels and wedges for women, and loafers, boots, oxfords and sneakers for men. The shoes are a bit on the pricey side, ranging from $68 to $225. But good shoes can be worth the cost.
