Free jean caravan rolls into town
While it's still much too hot outside to slog around in jeans, tomorrow you may want to make an exception.
In connection with the Vans Warped Tour at St. Petersburg's Vinoy Waterfront Park on Friday, Connecticut-based Amethyst Jeans is giving away 600 pairs of free jeans.
Spokeswoman Angie Mathews said a variety of sizes will be available between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the park. It'll be first-come, first-served for the ladies who stop by the company's impossible-to-ignore, bubble-gum-pink caravan of denim. The jeans are regularly priced between $25 to $48.
Sport your new slacks with a punk-ish hoodie or skater shoes at the weekend concert, which features several groups with local ties. Pop- punk band Versa Emerg, whose singer is Redington Shores resident Sierra Kusterbeck, will apparently make an appearance at the jean bonanza for autographs.
