Wow, has it really been a year since I shimmied and shook my way into Gap’s new 1969 Premium Jeans line?
Time flies when trying to forget the horror that was the Always Skinny jean on my thighs.
The premium jeans line – billed as designer jeans at un-designer-like prices – will expand in the fall, Gap announced this week. The chain will debut new styles featuring details like hardware, zippers and artwork on jeans for women, all starting at $69.50. Men will get black-coated and extreme washes in the boot, skinny and straight fits, plus back pocket details, starting at $59.50.
Each month through the fall, Gap will also add styles that feature “extreme leg shapes” – from legging to wide-leg styles.
The jeans now have their
very own Web site
, which bounces around a lot but purports to include mucho "denim inspiration." Perhaps more worthwhile of your attention: For

, in stores only, when you buy two pairs of 1969 Premium jeans, get the second pair for $20.
