Give to Goodwill, score a free seat to pro soccer

rowdies_0.jpgIs it wrong to make a Goodwill donation just because I could get something cool?

In August, anyone who drops off clothing or household items at Goodwill-Suncoast sites can score a coupon good for a FREE ticket to a FC Tampa Bay professional soccer match. (The catch: The coupon is good with a paid admission, which runs $10 to $18.)

Still, not so shabby to get a free ticket just for cleaning out your closet. And my hubby and I love watching the Tampa Bay Rowdies, our local team. Their fans are a blast, and it's a great way to enjoy professional athletics in a small stadium without spending a fortune.

All the better if you get a free ticket. The Goodwill coupons are good for home games at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg Aug. 13 and 20 and Sept. 17 and 24.

Oh, and FC Tampa Bay is urging fans to donate a children’s book when they redeem their coupons. Collection bins will be at the stadium ticket office and gates on game days.

Give and get: Isn't that a Gap marketing campaign? What's wrong with jumping at a local opportunity?
