'Tis the season for spending, yes. But if you're anything like us, pangs of buyers' remorse have begun to creep into your visions of sugar plumbs. We didn't mean to buy that extra sweater for ourselves, or treat our aching feet to a spa pedicure we couldn't afford between mall trips, or take a few minutes of cyber shopping time to browse the latest DSW slingback selection.
Sigh.
Don't pout. Don't cry. We've got a little nugget to cheer you right up.
A story in yesterday's paper by our colleague Susan Thurston makes our spending habits seem saintly. Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa recently found a 63-year-old bottle of Bordeaux wine in its cellars that's worth... wait for it... $30,000. No, my "0" key was not sticking. That's for real.
Think of the Target sprees and thrift bonanzas you could get with that. Not to mention THREE pairs of Swarovski crystal-covered knee-high boots.
Suddenly I'm not feeling so bad about that $4 afternoon latte splurge.
